Isabel M. Hidrobo

Isabel M. Hidrobo has over 13 years of experience in the field of immigration law.  As an expert in the field, she has successfully managed her own practice since 2008. She advises clients ranging from multinational corporations to small start-ups and individuals in connection with the temporary and permanent employment of foreign nationals in the fields of fashion, arts, and entertainment. Her clients include celebrities as well as numerous top ranked talent management companies in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

Her practice focus includes:

  • The representation of multinational and domestic corporations, their employees and private individuals in business immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, and at U.S. Consulates;

She is fluent in Spanish, and proficient in French and Portuguese.

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts graduated from Northumbria University, England, with First Class Honors . She was called to the bar of England and Wales in 2009 and is admitted to practice in New York.

Ms. Roberts joined the Hidrobo law firm in 2010, working as Senior Paralegal and Director of the firm for the past five years. She works collaboratively with numerous top ranked modeling and talent agencies in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Seattle, handling non-immigrant and immigrant extraordinary ability visas for fashion models, actors, musicians, stylists, photographers and others within the fashion and entertainment industries.

Ms. Roberts has extensive experience assisting clients seeking temporary visas or lawful permanent residence in the following categories:

  • O-1 for individuals with extraordinary ability
  • EB-1 Extraordinary Ability
  • H-1B3 for fashion models of distinguished merit and ability.
  • H-1B for professionals with a university degree

Laura Vea

Laura Vea has nearly 20 years of experience in employment-based immigration law, advising corporate and individual clients on a full range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa and green card options. She is skilled in the preparation of a wide range of petitions and applications for large multinational, mid-size, and start-up companies across a broad range of industries including technology, healthcare, financial services, utilities, entertainment, industrial and consumer goods and services. Laura has also counseled corporations on immigration-related compliance issues, including I-9, LCA and site visits.

She received her JD from the New York Law School and her BS cum laude from Wake Forest University. Laura is admitted to practice in New York and is an active member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Michelle Guardado

Michelle Guardado is an associate attorney at the Law Office of Isabel M. Hidrobo, P.C., where she assists individuals and businesses in obtaining a range of immigration benefits.

Michelle has experience serving corporations, individuals and families in obtaining their business and personal immigration objectives. Among the variety of cases she has handled, Michelle has assisted corporate clients in obtaining a range of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visas on behalf of foreign nationals. In representing individuals and families, she handled a broad range of matters including removal proceedings before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), naturalization, marriage-based adjustment of status, waivers of inadmissibility, family-based immigrant visas and consular processing.

Michelle received her B.S. Summa Cum Laude from St. John’s University and her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in April 2013 and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Michelle is fluent in English and Spanish, with proficiency in French and Portuguese.

Eliza Hess

Eliza Hess has over 15 years of experience in the legal field, initially practicing as an intellectual property and commercial lawyer in Australia and working as a senior paralegal in the U.S. immigration law field since 2008.

In her role as a senior paralegal at the Law Office of Isabel M. Hidrobo, Eliza focuses on assisting with the preparation of O-1 nonimmigrant visa applications for foreign nationals of extraordinary ability in the creative and business fields. She also assists with the preparation of family-based Green Card applications and naturalization (citizenship) applications. She conducts legal research for the firm and drafts internal memoranda on a variety of immigration matters.

With her work in immigration law focusing on creative individuals and enterprises, Eliza has married her passion for the arts with her lifelong interest in immigration matters stemming from her personal experience as a refugee migrant from Poland to Australia in the early 1980s, and her experience of expat living in Japan, England and now the United States. She brings a particular empathy to her work from her understanding of the immigration process from both a personal and legal point of view and genuinely enjoys helping people to realize their dreams of living and working in the United States.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Isabel M. Hidrobo, Eliza worked for another boutique immigration law firm in New York City where she focused on assisting with the preparation of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications for a range of corporate clients and individuals, including a large number of Australian nationals.

Eliza received her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Queensland in Australia. She holds a Master of Laws degree from Columbia University in New York, where she specialized in the study of copyright and entertainment law as the recipient of the Robert J. Burton Memorial Fellowship. She is admitted to law practice in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.

Eliza is fluent in English and Polish, and has a basic understanding of Japanese.
